This olfactory story opens with the harshness of minerals, the verticality of the world, and the sting of fire. Gnarled woods stand, etched by time like nature’s scars. Wild weather bursts from above, splitting bark and engraving trees with marks, raw from a withheld force. The air is sharp, the silence taut. It is a scent of a restrained struggle.

Then, imperceptibly, everything relaxes. The resin, stretched like a nerve; begins to flow. The atmosphere softens and rounds. A green freshness rises like a morning in the forest, discreet but tenacious. The plant blooms in the shade and carries a matte light. We are no longer in ascension but in abandonment. The fragile calm of a moment of truth. This essence: Bottled as fragrance.

From this elemental tension emerge two new creations from perfume house Amouage: Decision and Existence. Two fragrances, two paths, each tracing a distinct movement through the landscape of Oman.

A fresh and woody aromatic perfume, carved from wind and stone. It carries the imprint of Jebel Shams, Oman’s towering summit, and the quiet resilience of Juniper trees, gnarled with age yet unbroken.

It opens with a sharp crack: Pink Pepper, Bergamot, and Cardamom sparkle like dry lightning across a cloudless sky. In the heart, Frankincense breathes with gravity, joined by the resinous pull of Myrrh and the green bite of Juniper. Beneath it all, the base unfolds with Patchouli and Cedarwood, grounded by a soft touch of Vanilla, as if, even the heart of the storm holds something tender.

This perfume is named Decision, a name as deliberate and unwavering as the fragrance itself.

Then comes its sister scent, Existence, a fluid, introspective, almost suspended elixir. It does not deny the storm, but it rocks it and softens its edges. Where the breath was tight, it now unfolds in a complete and silent expansion.

The Frankincense, which no longer crackles with fire, becomes like a balm, warm and enveloping. It meets the translucent white/green glitter of the Lily of the Valley and the tender flowering of the majestic Rose. In heart notes, the Labdanum Mystikal gives a resinous depth, like a comfortable memory fading. And finally, in the base, Amber, White Musk and Benzoin form a fluffy echo. The smell of a pause between two heartbeats, of peace that does not forget, but forgives.
