Maybe you love speed, are a petrol head, and cars are your passion, but your partner really has no interest, then what do you do? The simplest answer is that you go to Escapades Silverstone. Where luxury dining, spa, and racing meet, in one elegant green environmental hotel and leisure space. Read more here in A Unique Escapade, Escape to Silverstone.
Drive up or down the A43 to Silverstone, a village in West Northamptonshire, whose name probably meant ‘farm/settlement of Saewulf/Sigewulf’ a long time ago. Now, of course, arriving is probably more likely to mean a visit to the Silverstone Racing Circuit, the current home of the British Grand Prix.
Silverstone was first used for motorsport by an ‘ad hoc’ group of friends who set up an impromptu race in September 1947. One of their members lived in nearby Silverstone village and was aware that there was a deserted airfield.
Over its rich history, the site has played host to the most important racing drivers, including Jackie Stewart, who won at Silverstone. In 1977 James Hunt won at a speed of 130.36 mph. 1983 Frenchman Alain Prost won the race in the Renault RE40 at an average speed of 139.218 mph. In 1987, Nigel Mansell won; in 1988, Ayrton Senna (universally recognised as the best driver in the sport) won. Other great names of winners in the industry that raced at Silverstone also include David Coulthard, Damon Hill, Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel, to name but a few. And that is just the racing car drivers, as Silverstone also hosts the World Superbike event.

But this pinnacle of Motorsport, this ‘Jerusalem‘ of racing, has a new split personality. Embedded in the lush rolling hills and green fields right by the track, find a spa location, restaurant, and sixty exquisitely designed private residences. Welcome to Escapades Silverstone, an immersive hotel site that has birthed a new era of hospitality. Thus bringing together the world of high-octane racing with a calm oasis for those who prefer a quieter life. The best of both worlds in one.
This unique and first-of-its-kind site is home to sixty private residences, with 184 ensuite bedrooms, each providing the perfect entertaining space for friends, family, race teams and colleagues alike.
All guests can indulge at the restaurant, soak up the atmosphere on the roof deck, unwind at the pool area, train at the gym or lose themselves in the remarkable art collection and rotating programme of exclusive exhibits. UK studio Twelve Architects designed the space for motorsports enthusiasts and for those who want a restful spa-style stay. Some of the apartments sit just 12 metres from the track’s crash barrier, providing guests with an unrivalled proximity to the action.
Anchored by a central building, the hotel site overlooks a stretch of the track, yet sits against the backdrop of rolling green countryside. The central building becomes the hub for action, where the joint amenities are on offer.
The Gallery is Escapade Silverstone’s restaurant, bar, and private dining room. It offers a glorious floor-to-ceiling view of the track alongside a menu designed by Head Chef Matt Tsistrakis, showcasing the best of British ingredients and locally sourced, seasonal produce.
Sit at the bar and sip in style with meticulously crafted cocktails designed by top mixologists to elevate the experience. Now, should there be sunshine, on the top deck, find the vibrant Veuve Clicquot Roof Deck. Here, get a fully 360-degree panoramic view of the circuit whilst enjoying a chilled glass of bubbly.
As well as the restaurant, bar and terrace, the clubhouse includes a year-round swimming pool, sauna, driver-focused gym, which is open 24/7, and offers a high-performance training environment with cutting-edge equipment, as well as treatment rooms. These offer the options to those who are not particular race fans, and are looking for alternative activities to the motorsports on offer or those who are sporting fanatics.
Guests are also invited to immerse themselves in a wellness experience with an array of facilities and treatments usually only accessible to elite racing drivers. The expert-led treatments facilitated by F1’s pioneering Human Performance Osteopath Gemma Fisher have been specially designed by Formula Health to optimise driver performance.
The suits are visually dynamic yet calming to look at. A soft design allows for the development to live up to both the drama of the racing and the rolling English green fields and pastures surrounding it.
And were that not enough, adorning the walls of the restaurant and bar is an impressive, motorsport-inspired gallery, expertly curated by Art Director, Renata Fernandes.
The art spaces will spotlight established and up-and-coming artists, including ex-racing drivers such as Stefan Johansson. The artworks include mixed media works ranging from original paintings, photography and sculpture, to bespoke digital art created for events as part of a rotating programme of exhibits, and should a piece take your fancy, then know it’s available to buy.
All the works are connected in some shape or form to the world of motorsport, with some ex-drivers creating works, whilst other pieces have been commissioned and are site-specific. The works offer an unusual added perspective to each visitor’s experience at the location.
As for the rooms, the cantilevered and twisted blocks were created to allow for an illusion of speed; each one is at a slightly different angle along the track. Clad in pressure-treated grey wood, softening with age, that allows for sharp shapes to soften and naturally, whilst sitting within the environment.
The suits include the Trackside residence, 1–4-bedroom residences provide enthralling views of the track, complete with stunning private terraces
The next option is the Countryside residence, which are 1–2-bedroom residences that offer a peaceful retreat surrounded by the serene Northamptonshire countryside but are still only steps from the track.
The final offer is the best of both worlds with the Dual-Aspect residence. These 1-4-bedroom residences enjoy partial track views on one side and sweeping countryside vistas on the other. Expansive roof terraces make these properties perfect for soaking up the atmosphere.
The interiors offer simple but luxurious, sleek, minimal designs complete with kitchens, sofas, TV’s, and large windows. Sumptuous materials include calming, warm timbers, brass and metal work. All bathrooms have walk-in showers and EV charging points.
Each set of residences is built to be flexible with movable walls so one person or up to four can reside within each space. The open-plan living arrangements can be completely customised according to the party size. Some of the rooms have balconies, others have roof terraces.
This is a one-of-a-kind iconic location that redefines premium hospitality, find speed, and rest sitting together. Both the architecture and interior design seamlessly embody the spirit of motorsport. Created so that every need of each unique guest can be catered for, whether that be fun-filled power or soft relaxation, social gatherings or intimate spaces.
Blending the ambience of an exclusive private members’ club with the excitement of the trackside experience, it stands as an unparalleled destination to stay, dine, relax, and socialise.
