Perfume is many thousands of years old, it is made up of great knowledge and deep creative expertise. The understanding behind this comes usually, from the great Noses, the men and women who literally create the scents.

Louis Vuitton celebrates its luxurious perfumery by introducing a set of three books, A Perfume Atlas, 400 pages revealing the mystery of the LVMH fragrances and the organic materials used to create them.

Flashing an extremely rare glimpse into the savoir-faire of Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, the master perfumer of Louis Vuitton.

A peek into the perfumer’s personal choice of flora, which comes in three distinct covers, modelled after the perfumer’s favourite flora which includes Rose, Jasmine and Lemon.

You will discover the three distinct covers of the atlas are arranged according to the geographical locations of the numerous fragrant plants.

Organised according to where the perfume plants grow and paying tribute to nature and its nurturers, all collected and put together by the Louis Vuitton perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud.

We may not own atlas books to look at our world, as we now have our digital world. But how about owning a Perfume Atlas that explores the mysteries of making fragrances via a journey across the continents of the world?

Every ingredient, from the Bergamot of Calabria, Italy, to the Oud Assam of Bangladesh to the Rose de Mai of Grasse, beckons with an evocative intensity heightened by ancient mythology, opening doors to far-off vistas.

The Perfumer spent nearly three years of his life compiling the book. Circling the globe in search of remarkable raw materials, each of which has been carefully selected by the Perfumer and brought to the French home of perfumery, Grasse for refinement before being introduced into Les Fontaines Parfumées, which is the workshop of the Master Perfumer, who then blends them into tailored Louis Vuitton creations.

Louis Vuitton set out to tread unknown territory in 2012 when it made its way to fragrances. The French epitome of luxury resolved to do things correctly if they were going to pursue the perfumes, even though they hadn’t done so yet. This required establishing an official atelier in Grasse, the epicentre of innovative and historical scent. The best perfumers and scent creators are based in Provence, a province of southeastern France.

Being a Grassois native and the son and grandson of perfume producers, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud’s innovative approach prioritises creativity in creation, leveraging his expertise in the field.

The terrain is perfect for cultivating raw materials including Violet, Orange blossom, Jasmine, Rose, and Tuberose. In a nutshell, Grasse is the epitome of perfume.

Surprisingly, the Perfume Atlas was also offered in a limited edition set called the Perfume Atlas exclusive set. Along the books came a remarkable case with 45 phials of the finest raw material extractions, exclusively hand-picked and presented by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud.

The Perfume De’Atlas, launched with a sensory journey of 45 vials of raw material extractions was part of the Perfume Atlas Exclusive Set in a few Vuitton boutiques costing 5,000 euros. But at present, only one version without the vials of scent is available for sale in three different covers.

Perfume Atlas €160 EUR at a few French Louis Vuitton boutiques, and later the limited-edition binding was made available in additional nations and online.
