It is even mentioned in the Old Testament in Genesis, \u201cThen their father Israel said to them, \u201cIf it must be, then do this: Put some of the best products of the land in your bags and take them down to the man as a gift\u2013a little balm and a little honey, some spices and myrrh, some pistachio nuts and almonds.<\/em>\u201d so it’s fair to say that the pistachio has been around for a long time. Not only is it used as a snack, it is also used in sweet treats as well as savoury dishes, but recently it has been explored in perfumery, find out about Mona Kattan, of Kayali Perfume’s newest delicious perfume treat here in Pistachio Dream <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It may be an apocryphal story but for the Queen of Sheba, pistachios were only to be enjoyed by royalty, even decreeing that it was illegal for commoners to grow pistachio trees. Whilst in Iran The seeds have earned the nickname \u201cGreen Gold\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is also believed that The\u00a0Hanging Gardens of Babylon\u00a0were to have contained pistachio trees during the reign of King\u00a0Marduk-apla-iddina II\u00a0about 700 BCE<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In some countries, like Israel and Russia, hearing the cracking of the pistachio nut is viewed as a good omen. And in the Middle East specifically, they regarded this particular sound as an omen for a happy relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This may be why couples across the middle East meet under pistachio trees, hoping the tree and nuts would bring about successful love affairs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their delicious taste can vary widely as to whether they are pre-roasted or not. From intensely woody, piney fresh, and slightly ‘terpy’ all the way to resinous with a slightly minty, camphoraceous and spicy nuance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eaten whole, either fresh or roasted and\u00a0salted, and are also used primarily in sweet foods such as ice cream,\u00a0kulfi,\u00a0spumoni, \u00a0baklava,\u00a0\u00a0halva,\u00a0and biscotti, but do appear in certain savoury foods.<\/p>\n\n\n

This biblical nut (and we mean that in both its senses) is the latest sweet treat to be ‘perfumed’ by Mona Kattan for her scent brand Kayali<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yum Pistachio Gelato | 33<\/a> is as expected a gourmand fragrance inspired by Mona’s favourite dessert. An Intense fragrance crafted with a unique blend of 25% oils. This means it’s heaven-creamy and rich with long-lasting power. An added little insight is the number 33 stands for how many modifications it took to make the perfect version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It opens with a rush of sweet nuttiness from Pistachio Gelato, Rum, Hazelnut, Bergamot, and Cardamon. The rum note as Mona is Muslim and does not drink is a modified rum with alcohol taken out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A soft floral fruity middle develops via \u00a0Lily-of-the-Valley, Geranium, Jasmine, Pear, Peony, Raspberry and White Peach giving the scent a continuity with its sister scents; Floral fruity and creamy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the perfume sits with <\/b>the soft wood of Sandalwood and Cedar, alongside, mouthwatering Whipped Cream, Marshmallow, Cacao, Cotton Candy, Turkish Delight Accord, and Tonka Bean, meaning the lingering sweetness stays heady, rich sweet and creamy on the skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
