The Heroine or Hero blasts out of the screen off into the sunset, or may off to the other side? Here are a few to get your teeth into. Enjoy Going Out In A Blaze of Glory<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Going Out In A Blaze Of Glory. Everyone can remember the striking final frame of the cowboy &#8220;Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.&#8221; It&#8217;s one immortalized in a freeze-frame shot, one that sees the charismatic bandit and his dead-shot partner facing a hail of inescapable gunfire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) - Knife Fight Scene (1\/5) | Movieclips\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/w9KBOhPXhds?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">And although logic assures the duo, portrayed indelibly by Paul Newman and Robert Redford, don&#8217;t squirm or shoot their way out. The film&#8217;s ending famously leaves the outlaw&#8217;s fate at the mercy of a visual cliff-hanger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Thelma &amp; Louise<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">The best use of a freeze frame for the final shot in a film is \u00a0Thelma &amp; Louise. The 1991 Oscar winner for Best Orginal Screenplay shows the transformation of isolated housewife Thelma (Geena Davis) and cigarette-loving waitress Louise (Susan Sarandon) into the notorious eponymous duo on the run to Mexico. Essentially, it\u2019s the feminine manifesto on how to leave domestic life behind for the freedom of being outlaws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"THELMA &amp; LOUISE (1991) | The Best of JD [Brad Pitt] | MGM\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lNY9sUZ1Lkk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most memorable moments of the film is the ending. After an intense police chase through the desert, Thelma and Louise choose to drive their \u201966 Thunderbird off of a cliff rather than being caught by the police. However, the audience doesn\u2019t see the actual crash.\u00a0Aided by a powerful and emotional score from\u00a0Hans Zimmer,\u00a0the car freezes in mid-air and the screen fades to white.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Primal Fear<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Martin Vail is an arrogant\u00a0Chicago\u00a0defense attorney who defends the case of a killed and loved archbishop.  Aaron Stampler, a 19-year-old\u00a0altar boy\u00a0from\u00a0Kentucky, is caught fleeing the scene covered in blood and charged with murder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Primal Fear (9\/9) Movie CLIP - Good For You, Marty (1996) HD\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZbaW0HZ_Qy8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Vail offers to defend him\u00a0pro bono, and the meek,\u00a0stuttering\u00a0Aaron claims he is innocent but is prone to\u00a0amnesia.  But the whole film twists with the final scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>American Psycho<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">In 1987,\u00a0Patrick Bateman, a young and wealthy New York City\u00a0investment banker, who spends most of his time dining at popular restaurants while keeping up appearances for his fianc\u00e9e Evelyn Williams. From the book by Bret Easton Ellis.  The main character leads a double life as a serial killer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Patrick Bateman: An Inside Account | Memory Reboot (Slowed) | Edit |\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cQSUyHauU38?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">The film blends horror and\u00a0black comedy\u00a0to satirize 1980s\u00a0yuppie\u00a0culture and\u00a0consumerism, exemplified by Bateman and the supporting cast, but the end may well turn the whole movie (and book) on its head; beware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Reservoir Dogs<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">A 1992 American\u00a0neo-noir\u00a0crime film\u00a0written and directed by\u00a0Quentin Tarantino\u00a0in his feature-length debut. It stars\u00a0Harvey Keitel,\u00a0Tim Roth,\u00a0Chris Penn,\u00a0Steve Buscemi,\u00a0Lawrence Tierney,\u00a0Michael Madsen, Tarantino, and\u00a0Edward Bunker\u00a0as diamond thieves whose heist of a jewelry store goes terribly wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"&quot;Reservoir Dogs&quot; Best Scene HD\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xerx80SWgkA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">All of the criminals except the boss, Joe Cabot, and his son, &#8220;Nice Guy&#8221; Eddie Cabot, use aliases Mr. Brown, Mr. White, Mr. Blonde, Mr. Blue, Mr. Orange and Mr. Pink.
