Originally populated with padlocks inscribed with the names of hostages, it is now crammed with thousands of padlocks that have been added by sympathisers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-secondary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d228cc3aa20726247821977940fff11c wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cThe \u2018My Heart Bleeds\u2019 padlock conveys my visceral response and amplifies the feelings expressed by people around the globe.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-secondary-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6ed52f7d1f002c58543e084f993572c7 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cI chose to paint the eye of Hersh Goldberg Polin after listening to his mother speak and finding her so moving and eloquent about her missing son.&nbsp; I wanted to paint it from a time when he had no pain or fear but when he could look straight, direct at the camera and innocent of the future.
