Sisters are incredibly close. Now, imagine twins. There is nothing like the connection of identical twin sisters. From sharing a womb to sharing a likeness, that closeness can’t be ignored. Their attachment is undeniable, sharing a love stained by their DNA. There is family business, but twin sister-run companies are a force to be reckoned with.<\/p>\n\n\n

Jean and Jane, twin sisters from the midwestern state of Indiana, USA, travelled all the way to a vibrant San Francisco in the swinging 1970s. With modelling and makeup experience, they shared their innovative ideas and techniques at their first store, The Face Place, opening its doors in 1976. At that time, San Francisco was home to the Counterculture Movement, run by hippies and activists. The city was filled with artists, so it is not surprising that it was a performer who inspired the iconic rose-tint blush and lip tint we now know as Benetint.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sisters were probably surprised to be asked for a “unique, long-lasting solution to enhance the performers’ cheeks, lips, and nips onstage.”, but it birthed a beautifully pigmented product that would establish the brand for decades to come.   <\/p>\n\n\n

By 1990, they expanded and named the company Benefit Cosmetics. Soon, they would open in Henri Bendel, and in less than a decade, they would open internationally at Harrods in London in 1997.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By 2012, the sisters would leave the massive company they had built as dynamic cosmetic legends, known for prioritising humour and joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, the company has over 3,000 locations across Western Europe, the Middle East, South Africa, East and Southeast Asia, North and South America, Australia, and New Zealand. This includes their boutiques<\/a> and brow bars. They have partnerships with companies like Sephora, John Lewis, and Marks & Spencer.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, their bestselling and beloved products include \u201cPrecisely, My Brow Pencil\u201d, \u201cBadgal Bang\u201d mascara, \u201cThe Porefessional\u201d primer, and the \u201cBenetint\u201d lip and cheek stain that started it all. Their popular services include brow waxing, brow lamination, brow tints, and the \u201cporefessional\u201d facial.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company has also made some unique strides.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Benefit Cosmetics holds the Guinness World Record for most eyebrow waxes performed by a team in 8 hours.  In 2017, their Myer City store in Melbourne, Australia, completed 435 waxes. This beat their previous record set at the company\u2019s Sydney location in 2012.  <\/p>\n\n\n
