The book narrates the story of a girl, Eve, who tries to distract herself from her mother’s cancer and spiteful classmates by getting involved in a life of sex and drugs, not noticing the young, obsessive Adam struggling with sexual frustration and an abusive dad. Doubling down on formal verve, Ten Storey Love Song was erected in a predatory block of concrete prose.
