Once upon a time, perfumer Jacques Polge, a demi-God in the world of perfumery, created one of the best men’s fragrances ever made. In 2010, Bleu de Chanel<\/a> <\/strong>EDT was born. This original Bleu de Chanel Eau de Toilette was so good because it struck a perfect balance between fresh, citrusy notes and a sophisticated, warm, woody depth, creating a modern, masculine, and universally appealing scent, attractive and never ‘shouty’. Since then, this collection has built its own clan of like-minded scents with different facets and strengths explored, so meet the latest to join the Bleu De Chanel tribe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chanel<\/strong> 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a fragrance house, Chanel creates elixirs that are luxurious, perfectly blended, yet stand out as one-of-a-kind, often firsts in their field. From No.5 in 1921 onwards, the exceptional potions keep coming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bleu De Chanel<\/strong> EDT<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The house’s top-selling fragrance for men is Bleu de Chanel, which blew open to cobwebs of men’s fragrances in 2o10. Opening with sharp, bold freshness, collated from Lemon, Mint, black Pepper, and Grapefruit meant the opening was like a rush of beautiful freshness of a windy summery day. An enthusiastic, bright, fresh top full of zesty life <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its heart, a buzz of ‘power’ from Ginger, soft spice of Nutmeg and the subtly warm, sexy, woody, and dry facets of Iso E -Super and the rich floral of Jasmine, bringing an opulence<\/a><\/strong> to its heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The finale with a depth that brings a sort of yin-yang to the juice as it explores a depth of woodiness via soft Sandalwood, Cedar, earthy, leathery Patchouli, grassy rooty Vetiver, smoky Incense and white musk to wrap up its intricate warmth and softness, allowing for a scent that melds perfectly on skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bleu De Chanel<\/strong> EDP<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This woody aromatic scent quietly says elegance, grand and modern. Because it has this forever ‘newness’, it has been afforded several members to its tribe. Firstly, in 2014 came the EDT that follows the original path but goes down into a sensual and Amber territory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aldehydes and Coriander are added to the top, elevating the soft spice. Melon is added for a juicy note in the heart, and Amber in the base raises the allure and mystical elements, making it a richer version of the original. Wood<\/strong> <\/a>maintains the freshness of the original, yet here it is enriched with depth and velvety ambery, woody elegance. It’s as if this is the end of the afternoon, as the sun begins its slow descent into night, and cocktail hour calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bleu De Chanel<\/strong> Parfum<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, the son of Jacques, Olivier Polge, who was then and still is the 4th in-house Nose at Chanel, melded a parfum of Bleu de Chanel. Following the lead set by his father, he took to core notes and feel of the scent and ‘exploded’ it if you like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parfum at this point would have been seen as an extrait or extra strength scent for women, but Olivier instinctively understood that with such a beautiful (and successful) fragrance, there was no reason not to ‘up the stakes’ as it were for the gents too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This bottled essence heads towards the woods. Again, find that aromatic freshness as it opens, yet its heart is a touch richer, fruiter and deeper with woody floral of Lavender, Juicy Pinapple, and the Rose-Green quality of Geranium with added green notes as if capturing the green essence of leaves that join with the wooden trunk. And then comes the mighty woods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, Tonka Bean and Amberwood bring a deeper connectedness to the Sandalwood, Cedar and Iso ESuper, allowing for a full, warm, creamy and intense woody vibe to this version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bleu De Chanel, L’Exclusif new for 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now, new for A\/A 2025 comes the Chief of this tribe<\/strong><\/a>. If the initial members of the clan were fresher and brighter, this is more layered as if going from a sunny day to the early to mid evening, the warmth encompasses the skin, but alongside a darker, deeper and almost mystical intensive layered flourish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a dense, sophisticated, and complex composition, like an extract. A concentrate of exceptional raw materials. The most magnetic and mysterious facet of Bleu De Chanel “<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olivier Polge, CHANEL Perfumer-Creator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Described as a woody, ambery and leathery scent, it has the very striking note of Cistus Labdanum<\/strong><\/a>, also known as RockRose. This note is an ancient, biblical resinous note used for centuries in fragrances and incenses. It is a key note in Amber perfumes, and that’s what brings its important inclusion here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melding with woody facets brought by New Caledonian Sandalwood and other wood notes that emphasise and echo the resinous, warm, dry, earthy, and complex elements, joining into one. This meeting of deeper notes brings a more complex, warm, layered elixir to the collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the evening becomes night, as the slowing down and ease of the day’s end come into play, this scent, with its strength yet warmth, its depth and mystery.
