As Bicester Village celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2025, it also marks five transformative years of partnership with Smart Works, the award-winning UK charity helping women secure employment through clothing, coaching, and confidence. This season, their collaboration comes to life through The Village Attic, a space where vintage fashion, philanthropy, and conscious consumption meet in harmony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rediscovering the Power of Clothing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Village Attic welcomes guests to explore an inspiring edit of vintage designer clothing, jewellery<\/strong><\/a>, shoes, and accessories; all curated by the inimitable Bay Garnett, the pioneer of \u201cthrift chic.\u201d Known for her editorial eye and authentic love of vintage, Garnett has sourced over 200 unique pieces from across the UK, including treasures from the Smart Works archive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rails are lined with names that define timeless craftsmanship: Ala\u00efa, Saint Laurent, Anna Sui, Hayley Menzies; each piece chosen to tell a story of beauty, history, and reinvention. \u201cThis project has been a dream,\u201d says Garnett. \u201cIt\u2019s about fashion that helps women; clothes that give confidence and strength. That\u2019s the magic of Smart Works, and that\u2019s why The Village Attic means so much to me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every sale, every stitch, carries deeper meaning: 100% of proceeds go directly to Smart Works, supporting women as they take their next steps into employment. Here, fashion truly becomes a force for good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Movement Led by Do Good<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Chantal Khoueiry, Chief Culture Officer of The Bicester Collection, this project is the culmination of years of dedication to purpose-led retail. \u201cWhen fashion meets purpose, lives are transformed,\u201d she says. \u201cThrough our Do Good programme, we harness the power of our platform to create lasting impact locally and globally. The Village Attic is proof of what\u2019s possible when creativity and compassion work hand in hand.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the partnership began, the Do Good initiative has raised over \u00a3480,000 for Smart Works, directly helping more than 11,800 women across London, with 63% going on to secure jobs. The initiative has also supported the opening of the Smart Works South London<\/a> <\/strong>Centre, enabling an additional 1,500 women to access life-changing support.<\/p>\n\n\n

A dedicated photo wall celebrates the women whose lives have been transformed through Smart Works, capturing their resilience and joy. The experience is intimate and immersive: guests are invited to shop mindfully, to slow down, and to rediscover the thrill of the find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a retail world often dominated by speed and excess, The Village Attic redefines the meaning of luxury. It invites visitors to embrace circular fashion, to treasure craftsmanship, and to shop with intention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
