The world of niche fragrance grows every day, the petals of the flowers open their faces to the sunlight and bloom, radiating out an infectious life force. The play of woods, rubbers, smoke, spices and even the undergrowth provides new inspiration for the just-arrived creatives in this beloved space. A new show in London highlighted some amazing new facets and original takes on perfumery with creators coming from as far as Australia <\/a><\/strong>and as near as Scotland. Meet some great new independent and niche perfume brands here, as these are the next ones to fall in love with. A<\/strong> Destiny<\/strong> in Perfume<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some life journeys are written before we even reach the world. Sometimes we don\u2019t even question why we have to do what we do. It\u2019s a compulsion. Even if we know we are breaking family tradition or cultural lines, we don\u2019t have a choice. The option to not follow our life path would mean curling up and wilting like a roadside dandelion growing out of the dry cracks of tarmac that struggles for breath, water and light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maison Mirwad Perfume<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And so was this journey in Many ways for Mashael Al Kuwari, whose family traditionally didn\u2019t involve working in trade, but so intense was her love for perfumery that she had little choice but to create her own scent line. Meet Maison Mirwad<\/a> from Qatar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Making Perfume At Home<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting out making perfumes to sell to her friends in her bedroom, far from the eyes of her family, the secret only got revealed when, by sheer innocence, she ordered what she thought was six boxes of bottles but turned out to be six crates of bottles. Once delivered, the perfumed cat was ‘out of the bag’. From. She went on to train in Grasse, France (the centre for perfumery), and since the company has grown to include perfumes and bakours with two collections of scents, the Classic Collection and the Signature Collection, available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Middle Eastern Perfumes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scents are a true meeting of Middle Eastern life and French fragrance expertise, yet created with a ‘sidestep’, bringing originality into the styling of the elixirs.<\/p>\n\n\n

Date Fruit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s take the Dates EDP as an example. This dried fruit is an institution of Arabic hospitality, and as a sign of respect to this, she created a fragrance around the ritual of high tea<\/a><\/strong>. Here, the natural sweetness is balanced with spice, woods, and leather, finishing with a soft, welcoming ambered warmth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amber Perfume<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her interesting angle is not an obvious one; the olfactory family is a blush of florals and white flowers. Opening vital and alive with fresh green citrus of both Bergamot, Petitgrain and Green Notes, melded with the soft warmth of spice from Cardamom. Its heart is rich with Fig, and a bunch of floral honey via Rose and White Flowers. Its flourish for the finale comes with richness of Amber, rooty Vetiver, and a warm hug of Cashmere. As if the waft of Coffee, the scent of Dates washes over a bunch of fresh flowers, all on the table of an Arabic home during a chat with loved ones in the afternoon heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another unusual and unexpected scent in praise of her traditions is Beach Rose. Inspired by bridal traditions, the floral queen of Jasmine meets the ancient art of Oud, and the warmth of Musk on the bridal night, when love and fragrance are inseparable. Opening with the two most important flowers in perfumery, Regal Rose and elegant Jasmine, brought here into a modern sphere with the added facet of bright Bergamot. Soft skin-like peach centres with more florals; a green rosey facet of Geranium, with added White flowers. To tie the scent together, find earthy green Moss, warmth of Amber, eathy sexy Leather, depth and longevity of dark Patchouli. Structured as a classical Chypre, with a left of centre Floral to bring newness. Also in this collection, find Texture Velout\u00e9e, an ode to the father, an amber floral made up of an opening of Saffron, Tangerine, Ylang-Ylang, a heart of Jasmine, and Osmanthus and a base of Moss, Patchouli, Cedarwood. Next up in Blanc Fonc\u00e9 a woody spicy fragrance, melded of a warm top of Pepper, and Cardamom, a centre of beautiful powdery Iris, and spice from Cedarwood. Its finale is the joyous peace of the forest floor with warming Musk, green earthy Moss, dark Patchouli, and the softness of Drywoods. Finally, in the Classic Collection, find Amber Spark, an Ambery, Woody opening with a vital set of spice from Ginger, and Nutmeg with sweet floral of powdery Violet. This follows into the heart of Jasminem, earthy woody facets of Cypriol, and more warmth of Cinnamon. This scent has a gourmand note flash in the base alongside Musk, Moss, and Leather.<\/p>\n\n\n

The signature collection is made up of five more perfumes. It marks a new chapter for Maison Mirwad. Developed through a considered creative exchange, each fragrance was shaped with patience and precision in collaboration with Philippe Paparella. Firstly, Fleur de Miel is a Floral, White Flowers scent opening with Bergamot, Leafy Green, juicy Pear, spritely Pomelo Oil Expressed, Orange, Pink & a fraction of spice from Black Pepper. The heart is rich and juicy with Peach, Raspberry, floral, rich yet effervescent with Jasmine, Lily Of The Valley, Salicylate, Violet, Freesia, soft skin like Osmanthus Guilin DL, Osmanthus Absolute. Its base is again dark and green, woody and earthy with Moss, Amber, Musk, Patchouli, Cypriol. Also find Eau Verte with naturals, including precious Orris Butter Maison Lautier and Tea Dreches Absolute, an innovative upcycled ingredient sourced from the tea industry, elevated through Symrise Captive ingredients such as Ambrocenide, Ambronova, and sustainably sourced Bay Oil and Patchouli Oil from Madagascar. Or Filtre d\u2019Amour with precious Mandarin Oil Expressed from Madagascar leads the composition, complemented by a lighter, less earthy High Patchoulol Patchouli Maison Lautier, with Vetiver Oil Madagascar and modern fragrance materials adding depth and radiance. Next up, find Tendre \u00c9treinte, featuring exclusive perfumery ingredients including Pomelo Oil Expressed, Jasmine Coeur de Saison, and Delaire Osmanthus Guilin, enhanced by Pearadise, a green-chemistry molecule. <\/p>\n\n\n

Finally, in the Signature Collection, find Oud Velours. Oud is probably the most celebrated scent across the Arab nations, culturally extremely important. Here, the scent is expressed as a Floral Amber with a vibrant fusion opening with bright Bergamot, fizzy Grapefruit, sweet Tangerine, warm spice of Pepper, Cardamom and Saffron, depth from biblical Olibanum. Its heart is the fusion of top and bottom, bringing the floral delights of Sheer Jasmine, Lily Of The Valley, Rose, alongside sharp juice of Raspberry, more warmth of spice from Cinnamon and Nutmeg, soft wood of Cedarwood Atlas, ancient rootiness of Labdanum, a warm hug of Cashmeran, and earthy animalic Leather. The base echoes the heart with depth of Styrax, Cypriol, Oud Accord, and Patchouli, alongside richness of Amber with Vanilla, finalising this heroic base with earthy green Moss, dry grassy roots of Vetiver, and a veil of comfort from Tonka and Musk. Spice meets woods meet earthy richness in praise of this enigmatic material, Oud. The house also sells 17 different Bukhoors, each crafted to scent interiors with depth and character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both the collections pull together iwtha. signature of materials, each with a unique take on a beloved classic, whilst also working as an homage to her family home <\/a><\/strong>and culture reworked as a modern woman of Qatar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other perfume brands from the Middle East were five houses from the UAE. These included Royal Glory,<\/a> an ultra-niche house created in 2021. A cultural fusion of the East and the West, with crafted alchemy from the Agarwood ancient forests in India and the flowers and Roses harvested from the lush gardens of France, Switzerland, England, Italy, Spain, Germany and Russia. The Perfume Movement<\/a>, whose DNA is harnessing AI technology to push the boundaries of creative expression through scent, all while preserving the artistry and human touch that defines the craft of perfumery. Utilising AI algorithms to analyse the collected data and generate personalised scent profiles for each user. The Perfume Movement works in collaboration with DSM-Firmenich ingredient makers. Next up was The Armaf group, which includes Profumi D’Art<\/a> with nine scents and Armaf x perfumer Christian Provenzano<\/a> with four fragrances. Finally, the SHK Collection, which also has four scents, is guided by a philosophy of ‘one world’; a meeting of diverse cultures, bottled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Raconteur <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming from a very different part of the world is The Raconteur <\/a>from Australia. This artisanal luxury fragrance house includes Australian native plant extracts in each formula as well as a fun and funky attitude. Each perfume comes with an unusual twist, bringing a new facet of fragrances with power and attitude. <\/p>\n\n\n

Founded in 2019 by Craig Andrade, the house specialises in botanical fragrances using Australian native plant extracts. Gender free and handmade in his home country, he not only loves and respects it, but he also offers thanks to the traditional custodians of the native lands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work, the Cadigal and Garigal people of the Eora Nation and the Palawa people of Lutruwita. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present.<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So what plants does he explore in his elixirs? Let’s start with Macadamia nuts, native to Australia, specifically originating in the 100-million-year-old subtropical rainforests of northeastern New South Wales and central\/southeastern Queensland. They were a traditional food source for Indigenous Australians for thousands of years, and are the only native Australian plant to become an international food. So, for this scent, simply called Ms Macadamia, find first the signature modern bold square bottle with graphic letters. Inside the juice opens with Australian native botanical bringing creamy, buttery, and toasted nutty notes alongside powdery sweet honeyed Australian native botanical Mimosa, this is followed through with the powdery rooty earthy joy of Orris and skin like juicy Peach finished off with creamy Vanilla, rooty dry Vetiver and Australian native botanical softness of Sandalwood. Although many notes here would be considered as gourmand, this is not strictly a gourmand scent, far more grown up, far more individual and far more of a sexy skin-like elixir. As it settles on the skin, it becomes like a soft, roasted sweet nut, melded with a hint of nature.<\/p>\n\n\n

Next up, meet No-Tell-Motel, and as the name suggests, this is another sexy scent. Opening with a herbaceous note, yet with hints of bitter-animalic vibes via Olive Fruit Absolute. There is a sheer blend of White Cypress and Soft Sandalwood that melds with the soft, warm spice of Australian native botanical Tasmanian mountain Pepper alongside a rich warmth from Amber and a soft embrace of Musk. It’s a meeting again of soft woods but with a rich ambery sense and a slightly salty olive finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next up is Religious Guilt Spritz, as unusual as the others, as each of these names suggests. Here are the whispered confessions of the guilty in stone churches where innocence mixes with incense. It combines ancient religious oils with Australian botanicals, featuring a blend of woody richness and balsamic freshness. The array of notes as ancient of the churches they rise from and include Frankincense, biblical rooty Myrrh, soft smokey wood of Palo Santo and Buddawood, creamy woods of Sandalwood, balsamic wood of Cedarwood, rooty green and balsamic resinous Cypress, with a hint of fruity freshness from Cassia and green spice of woody Juniper, with a floral flourish of heady Turkish Rose. As much as the religious connection draws on the service of the Gods, it also kicks back with a fruity, floral tinge, reminding us of free will. <\/p>\n\n\n

There is Daintree Rain Tree, a celebration of Mother Nature.  A Woody-aquatic fragrance inspired by the ancient Australian rainforest. IA bright opening of Bergamot and smoky aroma reminiscent of dried leaves via Black Tea. It opens into a heart of herbaceous tea-like scent of Chamomile and rich, sweet balsamic smoke of wood from Australian native botanical Buddha Wood. At the base, explore light, aquatic, and slightly sweet floral of Blue Lotus, a touch of Sea Salt, beautiful rooty dry Vetiver, and the forest’s leaves still green, wet and verdant. A scent that explores the very heart of Mother Earth’s vibrant rainforests, bottled here, expresses the joy of rain-dappled green leaves and where wood meets the earth on the grounding floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The racantour has 19 EDPs in its collections with such playful names (and spirits) as Foul Play, Lemonade Grenade, Dirty Golddigger and namedrops, also offering roll-ons, room mists, candles and oil burner blends. This collection comes with an irreverent sense of playfulness that hints at the depth of difference these delightful and unusual perfumes carve out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Puzzle Perfume<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next house to explore is Puzzle Perfume<\/a> from Turkey by artist  Cengiz Yata\u011fan. The brand speaks of the idea that the soul remembers, the heart speaks, and the scent completes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘At no stage of my earthly journey have I ever said, I am complete now. I have always tirelessly pursued the missing pieces of life. While continuing my journey of self-evolution, I have witnessed time and again that a human being\u2019s body, mind, and soul can grow, change, and transform. For years, with conscious effort, I have sought to merge what I know and what I have learned with the spirituality I nurture through unconditional love, and I have tried to bring it into life through my paintings and sculptures. In doing so, I realised that when I found and placed the scattered pieces of the Puzzle back where they belonged, the whole that emerged was in fact the result of patience.’<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bringing together his art practice with his love of form and his understanding of the power of how scent, like art, touches all of our senses and how both impact our memories. Fragrance has the power, he understood, to shift our emotions in a fraction of a moment. There are two series, Hiss and Derun, consisting of eight genderless perfumes,  each of which helps to complete our own missing puzzle.<\/p>\n\n\n

Puzzle Lal’s name came from a valuable, bright red gem and was created as a reminder of everlasting love. Opening with a delicious hit of the warm spice of Clove and Nutmeg, which seamlessly blends with its heart of biblical Bright, lemony, and slightly camphoraceous Olibanum, earthy, rich Patchouli and floral rich Rose. Its finale brings the echo of warmth from the top notes with rich Amber, creamy Vanilla, a comforting wrap of Musk and soft sandalwood. This warming spicy fragrance settles on the skin with hints of a spice market alive and vibrant and comforting.<\/p>\n\n\n

Puzzle Nagamani’s meaning is built around the sacred stone of the serpent, a symbol of wisdom and awakening that appears to those who possess pure energy. An inner gem shining at the crossroads of darkness and light, body and soul. Notes open the elixir include refreshing, clean Bergamot, Lemon, and Orange blossom, which leads into a floral lift via Rose and Lily of the Valley. Its base is the grounding of this spiritual journey with rich Amber, resinous, leathery incense facets of Guaiac wood, and a comforting wrap of Musk <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other EDPs in the perfume range include Puzzle Rayiha, Puzzle Gece, Puzzle Daylight, Puzzle Sarcastic, Puzzle Purgatory and Puzzle Fibonacci. There is also a collection of eight solid perfumes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nagamani Solid. Meaning \u201cthe serpent\u2019s sacred stone.\u201d In mythology, it appears only to those with pure energy, symbolising inner awakening and wisdom. A bright, vibrant top of Bergamot Lemon, and Orange Blossom brings a freshness to a floral heart complete with green, dewy Muguet and elegance via Rose. Base notes of Amber, Guaiacwood, and Musk create a sense of balance and wholeness. In its creamy vegan solid parfum that becomes a ritualistic journey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the individual scents feel like an ode to Turkish culture, food and lifestyle. The distinctive puzzle-shaped bottles all derive from the artist\u2019s own work, coming with a numbered certificate and limited availability, meaning that after the essence has been finished, it maintains its existence as an object of art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sisology <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another brand with an interesting concept for its bottle is Sisology <\/a>from South Korea. Created as a capturing of everyday moments, the packaging is reminiscent of a camera. Sisology is a beauty fragrance brand, created based on three generations of expertise in the cosmetics industry. The concept flows through to the bottle design, which, with the box, gives the idea of a box-brownie camera.<\/p>\n\n\n

There are six perfumes in the collection, starting with Blossom Noir  a Leather fragrance for women and men launched in 2025. Blossom Noir is a leathery, spicy fragrance that combines floral and woody elements. The composition opens with vibrant Pink Pepper and soft spice of Saffron, transitions through a heart of rich Cherry Blossom, juicy Blackcurrant, and fresh facet of nutty Green Almond, all of which collide into a finale of animalic Leather, Soft skin like Osmanthus, and woody green Tree Moss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next up is Deep Down, a Woody Spicy fragrance for women and men launched in 2024. The nose behind this fragrance is Joelle Lerioux Patris. Opening with a bright and soft green angle with jammy Fig, the sunlight of Bergamot, herby Bay Leaf and warm Nutmeg. Its heart is a meeting of wood, earth and a cloudy hug, with Cedarwood, Musk and Vetiver. This all reaches a finale with base notes of creamy Vanilla and soft Sandalwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then there is L’Eau Del\u00e0, a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women and men launched in 2024. The nose behind this fragrance is Joelle Lerioux Patris. Another bright and spicy opening with Orange Peel and Pink Pepper that deas into a heart of floral majic with Orange Blossom and Ylang-Ylang, finalising in a soft cloud of Musk and fresh ‘pencil’ wood of Cedarwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The House also has \u00catre Toi, a Floral Fruity fragrance for women and men, Overflowing a Floral Aldehyde fragrance for women and men and finally On The Sofa,  a Woody Spicy fragrance for women and men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scents all have a great silage and are long-lasting. Interesting to see another brand from this arena, as South Korea has a rapidly growing fragrance scene. Often featuring unique, niche, and high-quality local houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scent of Africa.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From South Korea, a big step can be made to discover the lands of Africa, caught in perfume and collected in bottles. Meet Scent of Africa<\/a>, a fragrance house based in Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Africa is much more than a continent; it is a world. It is as unique and diverse<\/em><\/strong> as it is one Africa. Endeavouring to encapsulate its essence, its soul, is an incredible project that only passionate people would embark on.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Tanal Ghandour, Founder of Scent of Africa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are eight perfumes in the collection with ingredients from across the whole continent, including Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Nigeria, Somalia, Comoros, South Africa and Madagascar, and include Orange Blossom, Atlas Cedar, Cassie, Geranium, Rosemary, Myrtle, Olibanum, Clove, Black Pepper, Ylang-Ylang to name but a few. All of which highlights the variety available in Africa and its rich and varied heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u200bThe Nefee perfume is inspired by the most illustrious of Egyptian queens, the wife of the great Akhenaton, Nefertiti, which means \u201cthe beautiful woman has arrived\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A rich, fruity, floral bouquet composed of an opening of regal Egyptian Jasmine, Madagascan Ylang-Ylang, and Tuberose. Juicy red fruits, meld with sparkling Bergamot, and sweet spice of Pink Peppercorn, enhance this into a glowing, rich scent. The final flourish brings Mahogany, earthy Patchouli, rich Tonka Bean, and creamy Madagascan Vanilla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meet next La\u00efka, named after Mala\u00efka, a famous Swahili love song sung and covered from North to South Africa, lends its theme to the perfume.<\/p>\n\n\n

A rich floral bouquet of Roses and Orange Blossoms from Morocco and Tunisia, sit with juicy pomegranate and Buchu (aromatic medicinal shrub ) from South Africa, adding sharp and bittersweet green facets, whilst this comes together with sharp Lemon and Grapefruit zest bursting light into the mix. Vibrant woods, warming Musks and creamy Vanilla from Madagascar form the base, adding an element that cocoons and nurtures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A warm yet cold paradox lies at the heart of Fik, which pays tribute to the Efik people of Nigeria and draws inspiration from the creative power of Abassi, the god of the sky.  A scent created for men but would smell equally desirable on a woman. Notes open with bright Bergamot, fresh spicy sharp Nigerian Ginger, warm spice of Black Pepper and soft spice of Guatemalan Cardamom. These bright and warming notes fall into a cool middle of fresh, aromatic, green Myrtle, with the green-rosey note of African Geranium and woody -green Rosemary. Again, warm notes round off this distinct fragrance with ecream Vanille, and Tonka, dry, straw-like grass of Haitian Vetiver and warm Amberwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other fragrances in the collection include Gleti, the moon goddess of the Fon people of the Dahomey kingdom. She is the mother of all stars, shining and captivating all gazes. Notes include pear, white flowers, Tunisian Neroli and Egyptian Jasmine and finally Madagascar Ylang-Ylang and Egyptian Cassie, and a base of Musk, Vetiver, and Sandalwood. Or Bellua, inspired by the god Bele Alua, the tree guardian, as she is called in Ghana.  Starting with perfumed juice of Passion fruit, then Madagascan tagetes ( green apple scent), Bergamot and a touch of Madagascan Ginger, with a heart of Frangipani flowers, Ylang Ylang and Jasmine. Amber and Musk provide the base for its finale alongside Cedarwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the fragrances in the collection are a rich celebration of the land and its produce, and fully opulent fragrances for people who want to be noticed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back across to cooler climbs this time to Sweden. Two companies presented at the show from here, Nos Republic, a niche collection by Ksenia Golovanova, one of the most famous Russian perfume bloggers, author and translator of Luca Turin’s bible, Perfumes: The A-Z Guide<\/em> into Russian. Nos Republic came out with six fragrances that represent inspiring stories alluded to by a list of words written on each fragrance’s box.  The other brand based in Sweden is a candle house called Tales of Illumination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tales of Illumination<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A contemporary Swedish luxury scent brand exploring scent as culture, object, and experience. Founded by <\/strong>Peter Gentzel, the brand was created from a desire to place scent back at the centre of everyday life, not as decoration or an afterthought, but as a meaningful medium for atmosphere, reflection, and presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All Tales of Illuminations <\/strong>scents are developed in Grasse, the centre of perfume in France, in collaboration with master perfumers who normally work in fine fragrance. However, in many ways getting the fragrance balance right in a candle can be far more complicated than a perfume, where the different scents in a fragrance develop over time, the candle has ot have a continuous flow of all the notes.<\/p>\n\n\n

Four candles make up the collection. Firstly, the rather divine-sounding Whiskey Fire Flower. An exploration of where the majestic Rose meets with smoked woods. Think of evenings with a loved one by the fire as you sip your dark alcohol, the fire burns, and the waft of Roses in a vase melds into the scent of smoky woods and dark boozy hits. A wonderful paradox of bold and sensual at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n

When winter is drawing to a close, we all will the scent of fresh sunshine, warm waters and bright tones to come join us. Sadly, if we can’t get there, a scented candle can at least bring the energy of that to our homes. The second candle in the collection is called Amalfi-fication, yup, a holiday on the famous Italian Amalfi coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This waxed joy in a jar contains the blend of fresh vital Bergamot, a touch of salty air, and sun-warmed stone; burn and feel like you are sitting, feeling the sun on your skin and the soft breeze of a watery scent and groves of Bergamot trees gliding past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two other scents make up the collection Neo\/\/Oud and exploration of incense, where ancient woods meet modern clarity, and East drifts into West. A scent of stillness and strength, quietly magnetic and deeply refined. And finally, Stockholm\u20131991, a breath of clear northern air. Here bright citrus meets cool mineral depth. Fresh Bergamot and zingy Ginger lift into water alongside regal Jasmine and an ozonic note, which settle into the warmth of Mat\u00e9, Amber, and soft woods. A scent of renewal and quiet focus, to steady the mind and sharpen the senses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each candle is poured there using carefully selected all-natural wax, chosen for its purity and clarity. The scents are built like fine perfume with depth, structure, and evolution over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marab Perfumery<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another country that perfume lovers can explore is Romania, and their collection Marab Perfumes<\/a>, described by the House as ‘It\u2019s all about oriental feelings’. Established by Nineta Marcu, it focuses on oriental scents within the local olfactory market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their perfumes include Lost in Shisha, an oriental spicy fragrance with a composition centred on a Tobacco accord accented by smoky nuances and a hookah-inspired Apple note, creating a shisha-like atmosphere. Cinnamon adds warmth and spice, while Moss provides an earthy nuance. In the base, Vanilla softens the blend with gentle sweetness, supported by Ambergris for depth and a lingering, slightly animalic undertone. Vanilla Overload, a gourmand-style Vanilla profile with oriental nuances. The composition opens with a bright and juicy blend of Mandarin and Pear, leading into a heart where Lily of the Valley is accented by Ginger and Aquatic notes for a fresh and slightly spicy contrast. In the base, Benzoin and Sandalwood provide warmth and depth, while Vanilla Musk emphasises the creamy, sweet character that defines the scent. Or even Nectar of Sin, which opens with a creamy Coconut note, leading into a warm heart where woody nuances are combined with a pronounced Vanilla facet. The composition settles on a soft, musky base, giving the scent a lingering, cosy finish that emphasises sweetness and warmth over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malva 1979<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Italy was represented by Malva 1979, founded by Malva Moncalvo, coming to life in September 2025; a collection of fragrances that evoke memories, nature, and emotion. Nine edps make up the collection, and these include Notes of Silence, a Balsamic, Woody, Floriental with Incense, against the light of mystical woods, golden resins, and enveloping spices to create a contemplative, ethereal, and spiritual scent. Or  Sun Mix a fruity tropical Amber scent with a freshly mixed fruit cocktail on a summer’s day. The citrus character blends with the fruity roundness of sunny notes in a radiant balance that caresses the senses. In the drydown, an enveloping trail introduces a subtle, warm, and persistent note. Also in the collection is Happy Birthday, a gourmand with facets of freshly cut cake, sugar, warm wax from candles, and a faint echo of an extinguished flame. A fragrance that reflects the inner light of authentic feelings, the happiness of those who feel welcomed, and the thrill of a new beginning. The other scents are Pied dans l’Eau a Marine, a Citrus, and Woody scent. Nude Essence, a Flowery, Green, Musky. Moon Blooming Flowery, Green, Woody. Tropical Latte a fruity Gourmand. Amber Diary, Amber, Spicy, Woody. Finally, Leather Soul, a woody floral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another Italian brand present was Farmacia SS Annunziata 1561<\/a>. As the name suggests, it is a historic Florentine apothecary and luxury perfume house, founded in 1561 near the Basilica of the Most Holy Annunciation in Florence, Italy. Rooted in Renaissance apothecary traditions, it produces high-end niche fragrances, cosmetics, and skincare that blend historical artisanal techniques with modern cosmetic science.  Founded in 1561 by Domenico Brunetti, it is one of Florence’s oldest pharmacies, formerly associated with the Benedictine convent of San Nicol\u00f2; it is currently managed by the Azzerlini family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cross over a border and meet the German house by L’Art Vev<\/a>ien. Its unusual offering is a collection of limited edition fine fragrances with the timeless aesthetic of museum artworks. Talented artists collaborate with the house, crafting captivating visions for the bottles. Each artist elevates a perfume concept, interpreting it in their distinct style. The resulting artworks are exclusive to each perfume collaboration, adding an extra layer of individuality and emotionality to the olfactory experience. The collection currently consists of two fragrances.<\/p>\n\n\n

France, the renowned historical home for perfume brands, was represented by terre d’ oc<\/a>, inspired by age-old savoir-faire and traditions, dreams up natural flavours and scents which conjure up the warmth of Provence. For the teas from all over the world, women grow tea plants and pick the spring buds by hand, following age-old tradition; others scour the foothills of the mountains to seek out new harvests in the best organic gardens or mythical plantations. The brand also offers body care and perfumed oils in the collection. The range of organic body care products is based on 100% natural, fair-trade ingredients. From body butter and oil to creams, liquid soaps and eau de parfum. <\/p>\n\n\n

Eternal Journey<\/a>, who speak of creating scents to guide you continuously throughout your Eternal Journey. A genderfluid collection with an evolving and renewing 24-hour scent, to provide balance and harmony appropriate to the time of the day. The collection from DJ, Clubber and Yoga teacher Pierre Ravan conducts his life, finding Balance between spiritual and material and has three perfumes in the collection<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les Petits Bains de Provence, who describe themselves as being inspired by the splendour of Provence, are committed to capturing the essence of this sun-drenched region in their products. Golden light, intoxicating aromas, and rich Proven\u00e7al history are the cornerstones. T. LeClerc, a prestigious French cosmetics house founded in 1881, is renowned for its heritage. Known for expertise in creating flawless complexions, the brand offers a wide range of makeup, skincare, and fragrance products tailored for both professionals and daily use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hormone Paris, their inspiration came from the concept of hormones affecting the way we behave, what tickles these hormones and invites the body to act a certain way. <\/p>\n\n\n

And then there were The Brits. Interestingly, the UK fragrance market is thriving, with niche and luxury brands and is a critically important marketplace for Niche brands from the early days in the late 1980s to now, and is still seeing growth partly from a strong consumer shift toward individuality, sustainability, and high-quality craftsmanship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting with some of the houses we are proud to have covered at .Cent. Angela Flanders <\/a>was a renowned British artisan perfumer and founder of her eponymous East London perfume house, established in 1985 on Columbia Road. A self-taught perfumer with a background in television costume design, she created award-winning niche scents. Her daughter, Kate, took over the range and has won awards for scripts she has created. Next up is Told London<\/a>, a candle producer that makes scented memories enclosed in beautiful jars. Olfactive narratives inspired by real places and memories, created in collaboration with world-class fragrance houses and designed for a lifetime of utility, in bespoke porcelain vessels and solid metal lids. Soki, another small independent fragrance maker with modern, feminine elixirs, was founded by Sophie King, who .Cent included her second perfume Aphrodite, in the fruit-inspired story here<\/a>. The scents are perfectly rich and heady fragrances, all have 30-40% fragrance oil concentration, and now make up five scents, candles and travel sprays. The house has already won an award for best Niche Perfumer in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next up, Kingdom Scotland<\/a>, another house we have covered at .Cent. As the name suggests, it is Scotland’s first luxury fragrance house, founded by Imogen Russon-Taylor to capture the nation’s landscapes, history, and heritage in scent. These unisex, sustainable, and vegan perfumes are inspired by Scotland’s untamed nature and crafted with the complexity of fine whisky, featuring notes like smoky Mineral, Moss, and highland flora. The collection is made up of four scents that can be explored here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connock England, founded by Amanda Conncok, is a house that was born from a father-daughter relationship. The father’s family business, which he grew himself, was finding and supplying ingredients for perfume makers. So Amanda picked up the mantle and started her own fragrance line. The brand includes perfumes, a body line and Home Fragrance. Her fragrance Kukui Eau de Parfum is probably her star as it was born from a known source for this rare nut, one her father had discovered, and as a result, the house still works with today. A floriental fragrance inspired by the wild, natural beauty of the Hawaiian Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n

Kukui is built around the Gardenia flower, complemented by fresh Bergamot and a full bouquet of delicate floral notes including White Jasmine, Moroccan Rose and Calla Lily. The fragrance is further enriched with base notes of Sandalwood, Amber, Patchouli and Musk. The name Kukui is also known as \u201c<\/em>lamp,\u201d \u201clight,\u201d or \u201ctorch\u201d in the Hawaiian Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next new British house is Max Foucaut<\/a>. Born in Paris, grew up in California, but decided London was where he wanted to be educated, because he trained as a tailor. His first menswear show was in January 2026, where he explored the lives of labourers and engineers, from day to night, through a personal lens of French heritage. It focuses on blending French agricultural workwear with tailored elements, including distinctive waist-focused “lender hurricane” bottles and leather accessories, highlighting his background in bespoke tailoring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unsurprisingly, his perfume collection is based very much in the textures and tones of the fabric he used. Utilising his intimate knowledge of places, the perfumer explores French heritage, laid-back Californian culture, and sharp London tailoring. Ombre Vivante, the scent of the tailor’s workroom, Ombre Solaire, exploring the sun-soaked sand, greenery along the Pacific West Coast, and refreshingly cool ocean sprays in the wind, and Ombre Nocturne, which highlights the nocturnal awakening of the city, encapsulating verdure, flowers, blond tobacco, and wooden herringbone floors. Evoking fine silk on the skin, opening a window after the rain.<\/p>\n\n\n

From a brand that is British with a global facet to a very British brand, Castle Forbes<\/a>. Yup, it is actually named after a castle where it was founded. Castle Forbes Collection is a distinguished British brand renowned for its luxurious wet shaving products. Founded in the grounds of the historic Castle Forbes estate in Scotland. An embodiment of tradition and elegance, offering an array of premium grooming essentials, including shaving creams, aftershaves, and fine fragrances, all crafted with natural ingredients and essential oils. The offering includes shave balms, EDPs, shaving brushes, a pre-shave balm and some special reserve items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another new perfume house is Ascetic Aesthete<\/a>. Independent and innovative, they create perfumes utilising the highest quality and most precious ingredients available. London-based, whose scents are based around exclusivity, creativity and that scent is an expression of the soul and a doorway to the divine.b Five perfumes make up the collection. For example, Heaven, inspired by \u201cThe Garden of Eden\u201d. The bliss, ecstasy of gorgeous flower gardens, reminiscent of purity, tranquillity and abundance. Notes include heavenly Ylang Ylang, the lightness of Gardenia, the depth of rooty Frankincense, and the richness of Turkish Rose, with a touch of ‘light’ from Bergamot. <\/p>\n\n\n

Transcendence, is fresh, uplifting, heady and ethereal. It lifts, sparkles, dances and illuminates with majestic Jasmine Absolute, Tea Rose, Heliotrope, powdery Orris, animalic Ambergris, and a warm hug of Musk. Whilst Gymkana, explores a striking gentleman, his own crisp scent of being at the grooming parlour mixes with the sights, sounds and smells of the Gymkhana. Tobacco, the smell of worn-in leather chairs, the coolness of the drinks and the intoxicating remnants of lingering Sandalwood in the air. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Love Addiction, is a gourmand fragrance, a dessert for all your senses, it melts in the air with the t key notes of Chocolate, Vanilla and Sandalwood. Finally, Stripped Bare\u00a0, inspired by true love and the unbreakable connection of one soul to another. Bottled feelings of vulnerability, purity and potential with notes of Sandalwood, Orris and Musk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then came Sultan Pasha Perfumes<\/a>. A London-based independent perfume house, named after its creator, who grew up in Bangladesh and London. His love for perfume goes back to smelling his grandparents’ collection of attars and also the wild flowers and plants in the surrounding countryside. His first love in perfumery, unsurprisingly, is attars, but he wanted to create spray perfumes to go alongside these, providing exciting complementary options. Four perfumes have been created, including Joyeux, a foug\u00e8re (fern-like\/green) extrait. Think of it as the beautiful simplicity and joyous feeling of a sunny day in lavender fields. Notes include a Lavandin enfleurage, floral, herbal, and slightly sweet-woody notes of Lavender essential oil, bright sunshine of Bergamot, and a kick of freshness from Mint. Rooty Clary sage, majestic Jamine, and light honeyed floral from Muguet, sit at its heart with more lavender, which all meld into a heart of Mousse de Saxe, creamy-cocoa from Tonka and Sandalwood, rich buttery, and slightly balsamic facets of Mysore, depth of wet earth from Patchouli, rooty dry notes of Vetiver, woody green Cedar, animalic Leather, and Siamese, caramel, and resin from Benzoin,  warm, balsamic, honey wood of Opoponax, more animalic sexiness from Ambergris, a soft finishing hug of Musk, with a touch of salt from aseaweed absolute. A beautifully crafted set of ingredients that make for a long-lasting elixir that echoes the beauty of nature is its most elevated form. <\/p>\n\n\n

Another from the house is Irisoir, in celebration of the Iris perfumes of the heyday of the classic Parisian makers. Notes include Iris absolute, Violet, Heliotrope, Lilac, with Peach bringing its intention straight away to be a warming, colourful interpretation of this enigmatic ingredient. Its heart continues with more ‘colour’ with the richness of Orris butter, the warm, peppery, and slightly sweet aroma of Carnation, alongside the rich, curvaceous notes of Tuberose, Majestic Jasmine, and elegant Rose, with a touch of green and powder via Violet leaf absolute. Its base, a lively animalic tension, is brought via Ambergris, and Styrax, a creamy cocoa note from Tonka absolute, soft wood of Mysore Sandalwood, pencil shaving from Cedar, a dry rootiness from Haitian Vetiver, A cloudy veil at the base via mor Orris butter, with a final hug of comforting Musk. Another powerful extrait built to surprise, and one that turns the idea of a cool perfume on its head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two others in the collection include Quintessentially Amber, another unusual take with a kaleidoscopic Amber using all of the elements of the genre, but harmoniously, think warm, resinous, creamy, spicy, sweet, salty, camphoric and with the soft smoke of spicy incense. And finally, Thebes, an ancient Egyptian idea, the journey between life and death and light and shade. Here, sombre, earthy Vetiver and rooty Orris contrast with the uplifting, sweet floral Jasmine, light sweetness of Muguet and rich floral of Rose. All four perfumes are Extraits long lasting comeplex and rich, beautifully crafted into memorable perfumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last new British niche brand to explore is Fario Fragrances<\/a>. The name originated from a conversation between two siblings who were deciding on a name for their company while selecting scents.<\/em> Meaning ‘to pick’ in the Bengali dialect, as they were selecting elements for their fragrances, the name felt fitting in order to craft distinctive fragrances that take inspiration from diverse corners of the globe. The collection is made up of six oils and two perfumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two perfumes are both EDP, with Fleur de Nuit opening with rich and juicy luscious Lychee, with fresh brightness, set against Bergamot. A floral warmth sits at its heart, made up of rich fragrance Turkish Rose, delicate Peony & warm Vanillin. Its crashendo brings wood with a hint of smoke from Cedar, Musk, Incense and Vetiver. Available as an oil as well as a perfume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whilst Autograph brings another facet of warmth, this time with delicious Roasted Coffee Beans, sweet Dried Fruits with soft spices and a lightness of refreshing Bergamot. Joyous, rich, heady, and sweet white floral via Orange Blossom, a smidge of smoke and earthiness via Incense and Patchouli. The final depths come sweet and rich with a touch of darkness to balance out. Vanilla and Tonka Bean bring sweet, creamy facets, Amber a heady depth, Labdanum for a deep, historical, rooty balsamic note and a hug from both Cashmere and Musk. Available as an oil as well as a perfume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The perfume oils in Amor Noir, a fragrance that balances sweetness, floral notes, and warmth, making it both playful and indulgent. Or Aquaroma that resembles a deep dive into an ocean with its sensational, magnetism and energetic aromas presented through its fresh notes. Laven Oud is an indulgence; rich, earthy sweetness. Whilst, Sombre Oud, is an enchanting fragrance that captivates with its dark and smoky essence, <\/em>evoking a sense of mystery and allure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This enigmatic selection of fragrances all showed at the International Maison of Fine Fragrance in London. The show was brought to London by <\/a>Val\u00e9rie Kaminov<\/a>, founder and managing Director of International Luxury Brand Consultancy Ltd<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
