Jo Malone’s Emblematic English Pear<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may have already smelt the distinctive and timeless scent of English Pear and Freesia, a perfume by Jo Malone. Originally released in September 2010, created to make one feel as if they were standing in the middle of an English orchard at the beginning of a warm autumn, surrounded by fruity, airy scents, combined with woody notes like Patchouli, and with a soft, low sunshine note as the golden orb draws down the horizon.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, unlike its partner here, the pear, the scent of Freesia cannot be extracted directly from the flower; it is a \u2018silent\u2019 flower. No scent from its skin (its petals) or even the nectar inside. The peculiarity of silent flowers is that, although they are naturally very fragrant, they contain no essence or essential oil. Although the success of English Pear and Freesia is undeniable, in September 2023, Jo Malone released a new faceted version of it, this time containing an added Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea is a flower native to the Mediterranean coast, with notes similar to Orange Blossom, Hyacinth or Rose, but with a sweet touch, reminiscent of Honey, making it one of the most romantic flowers used in fragrances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new version is fresher and more floral, leaving more room for Pear and bringing a touch of lightness, thanks to White Musk. The end result is fruity, slightly powdery, and gives a \u2018garden-fresh\u2019 impression, making it perfect for the summer season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The choice of Sweet Pea as an alternative to Freesia is no coincidence; it brings a light touch that complements the other version of the perfume, making it the perfect alternative, like two sides of the same scent, as twins would share the same skin, but remain different inside.
