London is blessed with greenery, but, really, who in this time and age has the time to look at it, admire it and praise its beauty as much as it deserves? The answer is the Fetherstonhaugh Brothers, whose phenomenal photographs are exhibiting at the Margaret Street Gallery<\/a>. The exhibition entitled Transplant shows Patrick and Tristram Fetherstonhaugh<\/a>‘s seemingly everyday photographs, which capture the mute poetic grandeur of London’s blossoming trees.<\/p>\n

Using a Japanese-made Nikon<\/a> camera and Japanaese Fuji<\/a> film, the duo’s creative process involves walking through London with their studio as the starting point, taking one photo of every blossom-covered tree on their way until the roll of film runs out. The rolls were sent to Tokyo, where they are developed and printed. The connection between the photographs and the symbolism of blossom in Japan creates a new perspective on the subject matter in the photographs making the exhibition an exceptionally evocative experience for viewers.<\/p>\n
