We often think of these people as vagabonds or gypsies running around in colourful\u00a0flowing skirts, headbands, and patch work\u00a0leather.\u00a0Often at times we neglect to value this way of existence, the opportunity to choose how you\u00a0live is an undervalued privilege.<\/p>\n<p>Being able to exist in your own way is a gift.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese-American physician turned writer, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adelineyenmah.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\">Adeline\u00a0Yen Mah<\/a>,\u00a0details her experience\u00a0as an unwanted child in China during the Second World War in her debut novel, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Chinese-Cinderella-Secret-Unwanted-Daughter\/dp\/0141304871\" target=\"_blank\">A Chinese Cinderella<\/a>. Blamed for the death of her mother after her birth, her family\u00a0considered\u00a0her &#8216;bad luck&#8217; and treated her as such her entire life.\u00a0Her father and his new wife ensure that she never feels accepted in her family and her only solace is school where she excels academically. The McCourt family moved from Brooklyn back to their native Ireland\u00a0to gain financial stabilitbly and familial support\u00a0as patriarch\u00a0Malachy McCourt&#8217;s\u00a0drinking problem leaves the family in a constant state of starvation.
