{"id":47540,"date":"2017-09-28T12:15:06","date_gmt":"2017-09-28T11:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/centmagazine.co.uk\/?p=47540"},"modified":"2017-09-28T12:15:06","modified_gmt":"2017-09-28T11:15:06","slug":"immerse-yourself-in-the-dragonfly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.centmagazine.co.uk\/?p=47540","title":{"rendered":"Immerse;  Yourself In The Dragonfly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The name <a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/www.lalique.com\/\">Lalique<\/a> evokes the brilliance of glass and crystal of jewellery, and of course fragrance<\/p>\n<p>Ren\u00e9-Jules Lalique started the business after becoming an apprentice jeweller\u00a0\u00a0whilst attending evening classes at the \u00c9cole des Arts D\u00e9coratifs in Paris continuing his education in\u00a0 England. Back in Paris Ren\u00e9 Lalique designed\u00a0 for many Parisian brands and then took over the workshop of jeweller Jules Destape on Place Gaillon in Paris. As early as 1888 he designed his first parures in finely-wrought gold inspired by Antiquity and Japonism, and broke with jewellery-making tradition by including innovative materials in his pieces.<\/p>\n<p>With his work and name gaining wide spread recognition he won competitions, exhibited his work and created jewellery for well-known entertainers such as actress Sarah Bernhardt. His desire to \u201ccreate something that had never been seen before\u201d earned him the accolade of \u201cinventor of modern jewellery\u201d. He revolutionised jewellery styles of the period, becoming a favourite with leading socialites, and was admired by the most distinguished of his fellow-jewellers. His work was commissioned by the great courts and collected by the world\u2019s wealthy.<\/p>\n<p>So when Ren\u00e9 Lalique took part in the 1900 Great Exhibition in Paris, it was the crowning moment of\u00a0 his career. It was that same year he was also named Officer of the French Legion d&#8217;Honneur. In 1905 Ren\u00e9 Lalique opened a shop at 24, Place Vend\u00f4me, where he exhibited not only his jewellery but also the glass objects crafted in his workshop at his estate in Clairefontaine, near Rambouillet.<\/p>\n<p>World renowned perfumer Fran\u00e7ois Coty was so impressed by Ren\u00e9 Lalique\u2019s designs that he asked him to put his talent to work for the perfume industry. They worked together revolutionising the perfume industry and made it possible for the first time to offer perfumes in attractive bottles at affordable prices. From then on, Lalique worked increasingly on designs for the perfume sector, finally devoting himself entirely to more industrial techniques of glass production.\u00a0 It was many years later that Marie-Claude, the grand-daughter of Ren\u00e9 Lalique, created the first fragrance, &#8220;Lalique de Lalique&#8221; in 1992, and went on to expand this side of the business with over 65 perfumes now in the range.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/centmagazine.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/illusion-1.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-47547\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/centmagazine.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/illusion-1.jpg?resize=580%2C871\" alt=\"illusion-1\" width=\"580\" height=\"871\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In 2014\u00a0 The NOIR PREMIER\u00a0 collection was lunched.\u00a0 These exclusive perfumes celebrate the rich\u00a0 heritage of Lalique.<\/p>\n<p>OR INTEMPOREL is a spicy oriental fragrance in which the two main notes, tobacco and coffee. The perfume is a scent that evokes the precious metal of gold.<\/p>\n<p>FLEUR UNIVERSELLE, contains rum and cinnamon notes, the aroma of warm sand from the immortelle is intensified by the coolness of pink pepper and freshness of cardamom.<\/p>\n<p>TERRES AROMATIQUES is a garrigue scented fragrance that complements the most iconic plant to come from the Midi: thyme, enhanced with lavandin<\/p>\n<p class=\"extra-info-abstract\">ROSE ROYALE fruity facets of rose absolute by supplemented with peach and osmanthus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"extra-info-abstract\">FRUITS DU MOUVEMENT\u00a0 a fruity and floral fragrance in which the gourmand prune note slowly gives way to the opulence of jasmine absolute and woody nuances.<\/p>\n<p class=\"extra-info-abstract\">\u00c9L\u00c9GANCE ANIMALE\u00a0 a\u00a0 sensual woody oriental fragrance combining leathery, fruity and floral notes in perfect harmony.<\/p>\n<p class=\"extra-info-abstract\">Septmeber 2017 see the newst launch of the Noir Premier Collection with the launch of ILLUSION CAPTIVE\u00a0 a classic chyPre fragrance (<span style=\"color: #222222;\">traditionally\u00a0<\/span>citrus<span style=\"color: #222222;\">\u00a0top-<\/span>notes<span style=\"color: #222222;\">, a middle centered on cistus\u00a0<\/span>labdanum<span style=\"color: #222222;\">, and a mossy-animalic base-note )<\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\">. This scent developed by perfumer\u00a0Karine Dubreuil-Sereni with her choosing to include\u00a0 bergamot, fig leaves, cinnamon, rose, jasmine, cedar, patchouli, cistus labdanum, vanilla, tonka bean and myrrh.<\/span><sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"reference\" style=\"color: #222222;\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">The\u00a0 packaging is inspired by Ren\u00e9 Lalique\u2019s Libellule (Dragonfly) brooch, the pattern on the bottle representative of the delicate wings.
