{"id":47596,"date":"2017-10-02T18:27:36","date_gmt":"2017-10-02T17:27:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/centmagazine.co.uk\/?p=47596"},"modified":"2017-10-02T18:33:45","modified_gmt":"2017-10-02T17:33:45","slug":"juxtaposed-the-smell-of-water","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.centmagazine.co.uk\/?p=47596","title":{"rendered":"Juxtaposed; The Smell of Water"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 1992 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.isseymiyake.com\" target=\"_blank\">Issey Miyake<\/a> launched his first perfume.\u00a0 Now being the early &#8217;90&#8217;s we were all in the height of all things conceptual, much of which was driven by the Japanese aesthetic of modernity and simplicity.\u00a0 When Issey gave the brief to the perfumer for his first foray into scent the brief was make it smell of water&#8230;VERY of its time. L&#8217;eau D&#8217;Issey certainly became one of those perfume &#8216;moments&#8217; a perfume that went on to inspire a whole gamut of watery scents.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty five\u00a0 years on and carrying the idea forward of watery fragrance is still new and fresh so along comes Issey Miyake with yet another water driven scent.\u00a0 This time not so much about purity and simplicity but of masculine power, strength and movement, think salt, wind, wood, so meet<a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/www.isseymiyake.com\/en\/brands\/issey_miyake_parfums.html\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0L&#8217;EauMajeure d&#8217; Issey.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">The design is of course refective of the scent with a\u00a0<\/span>brushed metal cap recalls both the texture of moving water and a glass flagon reflecting a piece of glass washed up on the beach; weather-beaten by the elements.
