Cashmere is one of life’s little luxuries.\u00a0 There is nothing quite like the feeling of being wrapped up in its soft strong warm fibres.\u00a0 \u00a0It’s far warmer than sheep’s wool , lighter and far more desirable on the skin.\u00a0C<\/span>ashmere wool,’s name<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>actually\u00a0coming\u00a0from the area in northern India called\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Kashmir, and is obtained from\u00a0<\/span>cashmere goats\u00a0and other goats.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Cashmere is collected during the spring\u00a0moulting\u00a0season when the goats naturally shed their winter coat.\u00a0 The harder longer fibres need to be raked to remove the coarse hair leaving only the softest fibres for cashmere knitwear. In some regions, the mixed mass of down and coarse hair is removed by hand with a coarse comb. This gives an idea as to why Cashmere is a luxury product<\/p>\n
