Raspberry Ripple; The Best Fruity Summer Scent
[publishpress_authors_box]
When it comes to the great British summer, we may well think of rainstorms, the seaside and strawberries, but actually, one of the most British things about our somewhat patchy season is the luscious raspberry. From late June to early September, raspberry lovers are in luck with an abundance of this juicy, sweet, sharp fruit. But this season, Raspberry can be more than just eaten. They can be smelled, via the new perfume from Jo Malone. Called the Raspberry Ripple Collection, find out more here in Raspberry Ripple: The Best Fruity Summer Scent
Vividly pink, exquisitely perfumed and delicate, fresh raspberries are a real summer treat, when our long summer days help produce the most delicious berries. A fresh raspberry sauce makes a wonderful addition to vanilla ice cream, apple juice, champagne, yoghurt, strawberries, and cocktails. But this sharp-sweet was not originally native to British shores.
Initially native to Asia, but were cultivated by the Romans, yet only gained widespread popularity after they were hybridised and improved by growers in England and France during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
Lesser known about this luscious berry is that it is related to what we think of as the most English of flowers, the Rose. But like the raspberry, the rose is also not native to the UK and also not strictly a fruit but a grouping of individual seeds. But whichever way we look at it, the fruit is scattered everywhere this summer; it’s the new big scent in perfumery.
And Jo Malone has not let us down with their unique take on raspberry, meeting with the British summer. Here it’s all sandcastles and ice cream, and the seaside at its best. Whether the weather is good or rather dismal, the fragrance is good enough to lift your spirits, whatever is going on in the sky.
In the true sense of this summer’s biggest hit, fruity raspberry is definitely having its moment. Here it is, however, an intelligent, fresh, invigorating take, not rich, creamy and sweet, but the full sweet sharpness of this most loved red berry.
Opening at the top with fresh, bright, lush raspberries and sharp, vibrant redcurrants, finished with a hit of harmony with blackcurrants, to give a full effect to the opening.
Its heart is juicy, bright, fresh and sweet-sharp pinkness of raspberries set off with a soft, green tinge to highlight the fresh outdoors of the summer
Its finale is the soft, white, feathery clouds that drift in the summer sky, with powdery white musk to wrap and envelope.
This is a limited edition fragrance and the house’s second take on an English summer, the first being Special-Edition Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne, which takes the angle of the fresh and bracing waves of the British seaside.
Now, if you have not yet booked your holiday or you fancy an experience with the Raspberry fragrance, Jo Malone has a little treat for you.
