Where Women and Charity Meet: A Powerful Win is Made
[publishpress_authors_box]
Isn’t it nice when you buy something and you know as well as treating yourself (or a loved one), you are also helping someone else. Today, charity is no longer confined to quiet donations or formal galas. It’s evolving into something more dynamic, more creative, and more visible. Across industries, bold and imaginative initiatives are using art, design, and experience to highlight pressing causes. These events don’t just raise money, they make conversations, connect communities, and turn beauty into a vehicle for awareness and change. Whether they are crafted in a studio or made on the open road, these modern forms of donation prove that when creativity meets compassion, charity becomes something unexpected. Charity collaborations have become an inspiring way to support meaningful causes by bringing together design with purpose. Whether it’s something physical you can buy or an event you can take part in, these opportunities allow us to make a closer connection and understanding of our past and our future. They may highlight a cause or even a person.
One important figure whose legacy continues to inspire such efforts is Sylvia Pankhurst, a suffragette, artist, and fierce advocate for women’s rights and social justice.

Jewellery company Tatty Devine pays a deeply personal tribute to Sylvia Pankhurst by introducing a new charitable collection created in collaboration with her granddaughter, Professor Helen Pankhurst CBE. The jewellery captures the spirit of a woman who fought courageously for equality. As we approach the centenary of equal voting rights for women in the UK, this collection helps to raise funds and awareness to promote a gender-equal UK Parliament by 2028.
Tatty Devine was never just about jewellery; it’s about making something original, fun, and joyful. Back in 1999, in East London, Harriet and Rosie, two art school graduates, decided to create the pieces they couldn’t find anywhere else. They were frustrated by the lack of exciting, accessible jewellery, so they began crafting pieces from throwaway materials like guitar plectrums and leather scraps. They turned everyday objects into wearable pieces of creativity. The brand’s now-iconic plectrum motif still carries that same spark 25 years later and even caught the attention of Vogue.
Today, Tatty Devine still turns creativity into something you can wear by designing around 300 lovely designs annually. From playful trend-led collections to heartfelt limited-edition collaborations with artists, institutions, and cultural icons like Frida Kahlo, David Bowie, World Book Day, and Terrence Higgins Trust. Every piece is designed and handmade in the UK by a small, passionate team of skilled makers, making sure each creation reflects the originality, quality, and spirit that define the brand. This latest collaboration is both a tribute and a call to action, a celebration of history and a step towards a more equal future.
Tatty Devine’s latest collection beautifully brings history to life by turning powerful symbols of the suffrage movement into wearable art. A striking statement necklace features Sylvia Pankhurst’s Angel of Freedom design, created for the Women’s Social and Political Union, now reimagined in sustainably sourced wood.

Another lovely piece is a delicate porcelain-inspired tea set necklace and a bold enamel flower brooch. It’s a modern tribute to the badges and objects that once symbolised solidarity, strength, and the ongoing fight for equality.

From one set of women to another. From 5th to 8th June 2025, the iconic Cash & Rocket Tour returned for another unforgettable journey through Italy by mixing luxury, female empowerment, and philanthropy. Sixty remarkable women from around the world drove across the country in 30 red sports cars like Ferraris, Maseratis, and MINIs to raise funds and awareness for Save the Children UK and Sumbandila.
Founded in 2011 by visionary entrepreneur Julie Brangstrup, CASH & ROCKET is a powerhouse sisterhood of unstoppable women driving real change. Built on passion, purpose, and philanthropy, the platform inspires, motivates, and empowers women from all walks of life to make a lasting impact.
The tour started in the beautiful city of Rome, where the participants were escorted in a police-led parade through the city’s historic centre. The opening day succeeded with a high-profile launch event at the luxurious Six Senses Hotel, attended by Mariano Angelucci, President of the Commission for Tourism of Roma Capitale, and Daniela Fatarella, General Director of Save the Children Italia. A beautiful gesture for an even more beautiful cause.

On the second day, a majestic stop was made at the Royal Palace of Caserta, giving supporters a chance to witness the convoy in a royal setting. The tour then continued along the stunning Amalfi Coast, ending in the picturesque town of Amalfi.
The third day, in Calabria, was the emotional heart of the tour. A free public concert and car display at the Arena dello Stretto, organised with the support of local institutions and the Grace Association, brought together the community through music, activism, and solidarity.
The final day in Sicily included public car exhibitions in Catania and Taormina, where the public could meet the participants and admire the iconic red vehicles set against the stunning Sicilian skyline. The tour concluded with a spectacular gala dinner in Taormina, a beautiful celebration of the journey, the people, and the meaningful cause that brought them all together.

Among this year’s participants were several famous British women, like Julie Brangstrup, the Founder of Cash & Rocket; ex-Gumball 3000 Group co-founder, Juliet Angus, who stars on the upcoming Real Housewives of London; Rachel Zeilic; Melissa Roxburgh, the actress in Manifest; Selita Ebanks, a model turned philanthropist and activist; and Tata Harper, the founder of her namesake skincare brand. These inspiring women came together in the hope of creating a brighter and fairer future for those who need it most.
To extend the impact beyond the road, the 2025 Cash & Rocket Silent Auction was live until 15th June and offered exclusive travel, fashion, and lifestyle experiences. All proceeds will benefit Save the Children UK, Sumbandila, and other partner charities. This is a chance to change a life.
It’s important to remember that women still struggle for equality, but it is proven time and again that they allow all of us to give back in multiple ways that aid all of society.
