Get Ready For A Passionate New Year 2026
The Times They Are A-Changin’ so goes the words to the song by Bob Dylan, that maybe as relevant today as the words were when he wrote the song in 1964. Often, towards the second half of the decade, we notice hints and ideas that quietly start to emerge as to where our world will shift in the coming new decade. As we move into 2026, there are already clues as to what we all want to see going forward. After quite a few rough years, we want to see positivity reign again, and so we find ourselves asking for something a little more meaningful, a little bit more personal and something not everyone can have. We want to have fun again and to step out of the shadows, and we are ready to be seen in all our bright, beautiful, fabulous and passionate glory. Technolgy
Our world is changing so quickly that it’s hard for many of us to cope; fast-moving AI, not long ago a concept, and now a reality here at superfast speed, is being implemented into our daily lives. As we navigate these historic milestones, many of which have been rather negative and which we are so happy to see left behind, we see several ideas that feel positive, new joyous beginnings that are rising up and are far more in keeping with our new life-values that include love, joy and passion. One of the most important aspects of the new world is that we are reflecting inwards on what really matters to us as individuals.
Individualism
In 2026, as society focuses more on individualism and personal well-being, we are beginning to centre ourselves with sustainable personal growth, rejection of “hustle culture” and a move towards balance and sustainable habits. Happiness is a huge part of this. Individuals are consciously reclaiming their attention from digital noise, leading to more deliberate screen time limits and “digital detoxes. People now crave hyper-personalisation; they want to hear something directed at them. Enough of the one-size-fits-all approach, it’s time for what suits me.
Limited Edition
Limited edition options are a great way to reach into the values of individualness. Products that not everyone can get their hands on make for an uncommon opportunity. Chanel’s latest makeup collection, Rouge-Noir, is the perfect antidote to the greys, beiges and general dullness in our luscious world of cosmetics.
Creativity vs Innovation
Like many great creative ideas, this collection started from the idea that ‘necessity is the mother of invention.’ Sometimes you need a little magic and artistic thinking to achieve something new. Innovation is most often driven by creativity.
Chanel
Rouge Noir initially shot to fame in 1994 when Le Vernis Rouge Noir Chanel launched Rouge Noir ( nail polish) at the Autumn-Winter RTW show in 1994. The colour was virtually created at the catwalk show as creative force and make-up artist Heidi Morawetz mixed black and red to create the effect she was looking for.
Colour Palette
Why red and black? What do these colours represent? These are statement tones of strength, passion, vitality, excitement, even a kind of lifeblood; they energise, bring courage, as well as highlight elegance, sophistication, power, authority, mystery, depth, and even structure to a story.
Make-Up Sets
No longer fenced into just a nail varnish, Rouge Noir has broken out and is now a full collection. It’s now ready to be there for your eyes, lips, and cheeks, too.
But this is not as simple as black and red together; this is bold expressionism, this is about the subtle nuances that come with these powerful tones. From dark reds to soft pinks, hints of grey shimmer and rich deep burgundy.
Starting out with lips, the Rouge Allure Velvet comes in three tones, Rouge Noir, Irreverente and Effrontee& Audacieuse, with the names hinting strongly at the potency of these three colourways.

Or should you be more of a Liquid Lip Lover, then the Rouge Allure Laque comes in two tones, Ultimate and Rouge Noir.

The eyes, the windows to our souls, come up next, starting with the most divine shade for our lashes to flutter all the better with, meet the Noir Allure Mascara in Rouge Noir; the mix of the two tones is powerful yet has an elegant soft edge.
The Rouge Noir Confidence Multi-use Palette is a four-tonal set of expressions of Rouge Noir’s shades. Made up of a magenta shade, a
mauve pink shade, pearly rosy white and a Sienna red shade with pink shimmer. Each encased with purpose, from shadow to highlight, the eyes become beacons of power. Here they are, the paradox of soft and hard, light and dark and they purposely play against each other.

For individual hints of colours, the Ombre Essentiell eyeshadow palettes offer up two shades: Gris Rose, a soft pink-metallic and Brun Rose, a satin mauve-brown
And for a final punch of steelyness comes the Stylo Yeux waterproof eyeliner, which comes in a Gris Graphic, a satin silver grey and Rouge Noir
The last added glow for the face comes from the Baume Essentiel Multi-use glow Stick, which, for this collection, is a fresh soft mauve pink, bringing a luminous hint of radiance.
The hands always play a huge part in the story of make-up, and of course, as the Noir Rouge started out with varnish, no collection would be complete without new colours. The trio of power colours include Rouge Noir, Performer, a lively and licious magenta and Modernist, a neutral slate grey.

There is one more treat in this limited-edition set: Les Pinceaux Rouge Noir, a set of makeup brushes. Included is a touch-up face brush, an eye-contouring brush and a rounded eyeshadow brush. These allow for play, exploration, self-expression, and the pursuit of a more powerful, more viable, more radiant self.
The collection suggests and shows two creative options for the colour palette: Rose Graphique and Red Obscura. They offer up an almost paradoxical exploration of soft pink to darkest black, yet both offer a game-changing, powerful creativity to our faces. Think high contrast, representing passion yet fused with mystery. But then again, you can just have fun and explore your face in your own unique way with these joyous colours.
How we present ourselves to the outside world has shifted. We no longer all wish to be beige and be the same moulded version of every physo-celeb on social media. We want refinement, colour, texture and newness, and we want to passionately stand up and stand out. We are fervently taking back our power. And a shot of paradoxical colour is just where we need to start.
