It is a feminine given name, probably derived from the Ancient Greek word meaning ‘benefit’, ‘help’ ‘aid’ or even ‘advantage’, which may seem strange as probably the most famous Ophelia is the tragic love interest in Shakespeare‘s Hamlet, who ends her life, driven to madness, drowned in a river, with her death described as a passive, tragic descent and repsented in many paitings as serene.

One of the most famous paintings of this lady is by the British Painter John Everett Millais, where she is presented in the water amongst flowers as she gently floats downstream. It opens with a lush, fruity burst with an almost fresh watery note, think thirst-quenchingly delicious. Juicy and bright with Pear, rich, sharp-sweet radience of Raspberry and jammy facets from Quince.
