The soundtrack? The Beach Boys, of course. The Scent? Waves of Freedom, the new elixir from Jusbox. Explore this new elixir here in Adore the Wave of Freedom, New Perfume for 2026
Jusbox new Perfume
The Italian perfume house whose DNA is the exploration of music through perfumery, hits another best-selling tune. This spring, as we go towards sunnier times and lazy days, the only music that hits the perfect beat is the Beach Boys’ surf sound of ’60s California. This new scent is positive and carefree, bottled.
The Beach Boys
Dennis Wilson’s passion for surfing led to the creation of the Beach Boys’ early hit ‘Surfin’. Their signature sound, blending surfing, cars, and youth culture, blended around vocal harmonies, was inspired by groups like the Four Freshmen, the rock-and-roll rhythms of Chuck Berry, and Brian Wilson’s innovative, layered, lush studio production. Nothing feels quite so easy-going as a Beach Boys song on a summer’s day. But how does that feeling become a perfume?
Notes of Perfume
Of course, it has to start with the notes. But here, not unlike Brian Wilson’s technical innovations in musical production, the notes in this fragrance have also undergone a form of technical rigour and transformation. Three key parts make up the layers here, and each brings new technology and fresh approaches.
Pear Drop
The opening is literally the brightest, juiciest Pear you have ever come across. Not the sweet ‘fake’ of the infamous sweet, but real full skin pips and all Pear. And there is a reason for this. New technology, after all, it is often science that moves things forward.
Meet PearFirgood
PearFirgood® is a perfume captive, a proprietary, patented aroma by taste and scent company, DSM-Firmenich. It is a 100% natural, sustainable, and solvent-free perfume ingredient that captures the scent of a sunny, ripe pear. It is described as offering a pure, refreshing, and authentic pear note with no direct equivalent on the market, providing a highly true-to-nature expression. It is a patented, eco-friendly process that uses electromagnetic waves to vibrate the water molecules within the raw plant material, capturing the essence without solvents. If you squeezed the juice of a pair, actually, all you would have was scented water, but this new science allows for the pure essential oil to be captured.
Coconut
We are well aware that coconut in perfumery is a popular note used to bring a creamy, sweet, and tropical element, often evoking sun-kissed, summery, or exotic feelings by adding a warm, milky, and lactonic texture. But here it is very different. Master Perfumer Bruno Jovanovic created his own ‘coconut accord’ and wanted to bring a different element of topical scent to the fray.
Amberever.
Meet Amberever, a new impactful and groundbreaking Cedarwood and ambery fragrance ingredient that was launched by DSM-Firmenich. It is known for its exceptional performance, high tenacity, and rich woody notes. It adds strength and durability, but strangely for a woody note, it also has a lightness of touch.
So how does this perfume come together with all this new science and new accord, and its sense of freedom of the sunny surf world? Firstly, it opens with the most optimistic Pear note you have ever smelt, not just because it’s luminous, bright and juicy, but because it’s literally like eating a juicy pear with its creamy white, slightly grainy or sandy textured flesh and Waxy russet skin. The most accurate, authentic Pear note ever created. Alongside this fruity facet is Cinnamon, bringing speckles of heated spice.
Interestingly, considering both notes are opening their power lets them meld into the heart of the fragrance, so the fruity spice softly lingers deep into the heart, where it is melded with another accord here, Pineapple, but again a newer accord bringing sparkle and luminosity rather than sweetness whilst the creammy Coconut accord, rather than sweet, has a creammy coccooning effect with almost a hint of woody Coconut shell to it. These notes coalesce in more clever uses of new perfumery notes.
Tonka Bean brings the chocolate-vanilla-creamy touch, but light and airy, and not sweet in the slightest; very comforting and warming. Patchouli here again is a new extraction, without the ‘dirty’ ‘animalic’ darkness, bringing again a woody luminous element which sounds like a contradiction, lightness and wood? No, here it is about depth, longevity and grounding together with the magical Amberever, allowing a longevity of wrapped creamy soft woody warmth that lingers like the sun on the skin after a day at the beach.
There is nothing quite like the feeling of a beautiful and carefree summer day, the simplicity of youthfulness expressed via tanned skin and days spent laughing and flirting on the beach with laid-back abandon. Well, the new perfume by Juxbox Wave of Freedom is exactly that spirit bottled. Avery fabulous and fitting scent to celebrate their 10th birthday this year.
