The end of the day, when the summer golden hour hits, can be short in some areas, whilst in others it can take several hours, but the length is not always what matters. It’s about how it glows and what it means, the feeling it brings out in many of us, whether it be the end of a working day, a gin and tonic in hand or a lazy weekend evening when the glass of crisp fruit-rich wine echoes the glow of this magical hour.

We love the end of the day in summer because it really does, not just have an emotional effect, but also a physical one. It’s the bringing together of biological, psychological, and social facets that maximise happiness, relaxation, and connection. The long, warm evenings, golden hours, bring aesthetic beauty and a slower pace of life that feels like a daily reward.

Sunshine Holidays

How does it smell? Well, we know the sun itself does not have a smell; however, the smell of the sun does have a real perception for many of us: the scent of ozone, baked dust, or warm plant life. But then there is also the place where we are sensing it. For Atelier Rubel’s latest elixir, it is the summer evening of Istanbul that they have chosen to explore. So how did they interpret the sun at the edge of the day, wrapping itself around this ancient city, when the heat of the day cools to a perfect evening glow?

New Scent 2026

The fragrance opens with a bright and fresh touch of juicy Pear and the last of the day’s sun from bright Neroli, think of it as a luminous, dewy effect, one that is effortlessly sophisticated. This melds with a heart that is rich and warm, here aided by toasted Coconut alongside regal, plush, floral Jasmine, reflecting the warmth hanging in the air as the tones of the sky go deeper golden-red.

A perfume as Warmth on Skin

The base here is what offers up the biggest reconstruction of this magical moment. An Amber accord, with Labdanum and Vanilla, brings the lingering sweet warmth of the early evening, the golden light receding its last rays, lingering before the sky turns darkest blue-black, creating an unforgettable trail to remember.

This is a long-lasting Amber Fragrance, deep, rich and textured with a wonderful warming silage.
