Shops brim with new names, each one offering something different, and young people here are quick to experiment, to mix and match, and to set their own style. It’s in this same wave of energy that perfume is finding its place. Among the new voices, Toouch stands out as something rare. Founded in 2025, it was created with the dream of capturing Vietnam’s emotional and cultural layers in scent.

From skin to memory, Toouch redefines fragrance

Toouch begins with something simple, a touch. The kind that lingers, that stays in your memory. Here, perfume becomes an intimate gesture, a hand reaching quietly into the hidden corners of your inner world.

To bring this vision alive, founder To Chuong turned to perfumer Sy Truong, the same Vietnamese talent who won international recognition in 2024 for his daring Molotov Cocktail. In their hands, five fragrances were born, each carrying the spirit of a Vietnamese city.

Before we step into the scents, let us pause at the bottle itself. The shape of a Toouch bottle takes inspiration from two opposing forms, square and round, echoing the Vietnamese philosophy of the round sky and the square earth, a symbol of wholeness and fulfilment.

The square stands steadfast like the earth, the round soft and embracing like the sky. In their meeting, harmony appears, just as each fragrance balances memory and emotion, reaching into the most treasured layers of feeling. The cap, handcrafted by local artisans, adds a final touch of sincerity, every curve shaped with care, so that when you open it, you do not just hold a bottle, you hold a piece of human craft.

Dreamy Nautica, Da Nang
The first spray feels like someone cracked open the morning by the sea. Apple Juice cools the skin, Grapefruit stings with brightness, and for a moment, we are right there, standing at the edge of the waves. You know that feeling when saltwater splashes too suddenly, startling but refreshing? Dreamy Nautica holds exactly that.

Then Neroli drifts in, floral yet airy, its softness carried on a breath of Ocean Salt. By the time the Metallic Musk settles, what stays with you is a clean, uncluttered clarity. It is the freedom of looking out to endless water, the kind of freedom you do not chase but stumble upon.

Deep Lullaby, Da Lat
Up in the highlands, the air wraps you in a kind of hush. Lavender greets you first, touched by the green sharpness of Mojito Leaves, like opening a window in the early morning. Soon the coolness warms, and mulberries bleed into Wild Rose and Mimosa, a combination that feels almost like memory, tender and a little wistful.

We may not know what song the mountains sing, but Deep Lullaby hums something close to it. By nightfall, Tobacco Leaf and Charred Wood arrive, their smoky presence softened by Sandalwood. It feels like an exhale, steady and grounding, a lullaby not for children but for us, weary souls finding rest.

Heritage Nuzzle, Ha Noi
This one moves more quietly, like Ha Noi itself in its earliest hours. A bite of Pear, a wisp of Osmanthus, and suddenly there is light glinting across tiled rooftops. You can almost taste tea in the air: Green Tea sharp, Camellia understated, Jasmine radiant, Muguet bright as steam rising from porcelain.

The drydown brings Vetiver, Cashmere Musk, and Rosewood, not loud but steady, like the beams of an old wooden house that has seen too much yet still stands. Heritage Nuzzle does not perform for anyone. It stays near the skin, a gentle reminder that intimacy can be the truest form of beauty.

Smoky Graze, Sai Gon

Here, the rhythm changes. Cinnamon and Coffee rush in all at once, strong enough to jolt us awake. If you have ever sat in a Sai Gon café when the city is still stretching into the day, you will know this opening: noisy, energetic, alive. Then something softer happens. Almond, Cocoa, Turkish Rose, and Honey fold over one another, rich yet warm, generous in the way the city is generous.

And just when you think it has said everything, Suede and Amber appear, followed by Vanilla and Praline, a sweetness that lingers like laughter long after the night ends. Smoky Graze does not simply tell Sài Gòn’s story. It lets you live inside its heartbeat.

Creamy Tide, Can Tho
Can Tho is unhurried, and this perfume takes its time. Lychee and Peach open juicy and glowing, like sunlight glancing off the river. Then Rice Milk slips in, creamy and comforting, blending with Apple Blossom’s fragile sweetness.

You feel as though you have stepped into someone’s memory, a kitchen, a shared meal, a smile. Slowly, Iris, Benzoin, and White Musk arrive, softened by Vanilla, like a long evening where nothing needs to be said. Creamy Tide is not a perfume that asks for attention. It is one that creates space, the kind where you can finally breathe.

Discovering Vietnam through the language of perfume

Through these five compositions, Toouch offers more than perfume. It gives us a way of experiencing Vietnam not through images or words, but through sensations carried on the skin. Each fragrance is both a map and a memory: Da Nang’s ocean spray, Da Lat’s twilight hush, Ha Noi’s tea-scented calm, Sai Gon’s restless energy, and Can Tho’s gentle waters.
